About Me
I’m a proud Midwesterner, born and raised in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and an overly enthusiastic graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During undergrad, I spent short bouts working and studying in Chicago, Budapest, and Reykjavik before heading south to Atlanta for grad school, and now to Boston for my postdoc.
Like a true Minnesotan, I grew up doing just about every activity involving a lake or snow, and I still love staying active – running, climbing, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, softball, basketball, volleyball, golfing, or whatever else I can get my hands on. I’m also an eternally optimistic (and therefore perpetually disappointed) Minnesota sports fan, with a Wisconsin soft spot reserved only for the Badgers.
Outside the lab, I’m thoroughly enjoying living in the Cambridge/Boston area. You can usually find me tracking down pubs with live Irish music, catching talks at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics, jogging along the Charles, or jumping on the Red Sox bandwagon. In the increasingly limited downtime I allow to exist on my calendar, I also enjoy drawing, painting, and other creative projects – though these days those interests more often take the form of drawing figures for papers, building lab websites, or putting together research video montages.
