Perturbation Examples

Below are examples of various ground translation perturbations, used to induce a variety of destabilizing scenarios by varying the magnitude, direction, and onset timing of the perturbation.  The examples below show perturbations for different directions, with fixed magnitude and onset timing.

Huge thanks to Dr. Alex Duman for making his Animate_Figures code open-source via GitHub, which provided the inspiration and template code used to create these figures.

Magnitude: 15cm
Direction: Lateral (causes widening step)
Onset Timing: Double stance

Magnitude: 15cm
Direction: Medial (causes narrowing step)
Onset Timing: Double stance

Magnitude: 15cm
Direction: Posterior (causes forwards pitch)
Onset Timing: Double stance
